Among all the assorted brands that attracted our attention while putting up the summer edition for you, nothing struck us more delectably than the pacific pastel collection by Tortus. Tortus is a line of home-grown products- promising design and quality. The founder, an easy-going guy, Raghav Sethi is a graduate of National Institute of Design, and he talks to us about his women special, floral printed, leather collection.

Tortus’ awesome new collection, the scintillating summer line for women is babelicious. It is filled with super sweet pastels that will make walking on a hot summer day, a breeze. The floral printed leather Kolhapuris, minimalist wallets, totes, handbags, coin pouches- all in the shade of pistachio, custard, rose-pink and other pastels are absolute adorbs. These bags and Kolhapuris can transform an outfit from being simply nice, to being exquisite.

The idea of this collection was seeded recently when Tortus designed footwear for Anavila‘s spring/summer collection for Lakme Fashion Week 2015. Around the same time, Raghav thought what else would spell spring/summer better than pastels and florals. So, he went ahead with the inspiration and launched this collection of floral printed leather footwear, bags and wallets for women.

Tortus happened to Raghav when he was looking for a bag himself. He personally needed a bag that would make an impact when he carried it to work, as well as when he would go to a bar, lounge or cafe, post work. But, in the Indian market, he did not find anything that matched his sensibility and budget, and what surprised him even more was that there was no Indian brand at the time, that was creating products for the young professionals of the country.

On asking how he came up with the brand name, he says, “Tortus is inspired by the animal tortoise. These reptiles are attached to their shells; similarly we have bags that we carry. Also, they live for a really long time, in fact some of them for centuries, and they age gracefully. Tortus brings the same qualities through its range of genuine leather products.”

Tortus currently offers a range of leather accessories which includes bags, wallets, sleeves, bow ties, shoes, and more. Through its products, Tortus aims at adding a dash of eclectic sensibility to the enlightened minds of today’s ever evolving youth.

2. Always look for a bag which has as much personality as you.
3. Take good care of your leather bags by moisturizing them as you would moisturize your own skin.
4. The monsoon is to arrive in the next few months, air your bags out so that they do not catch fungus.
