1) Ask him out
Set a date that works for both of you. Anticipation is a big part of the romantic mood. You don’t have to divulge all the details; just tell your husband you’d like to do something special for him.
2) Plan your ensemble
Choose what you will wear much in advance. It should be something that is beautiful and flattering, but comfortable enough to allow you to move about with confidence. Consider wearing an outfit that brings back a special memory, like a dress you wore when you were dating or an ensemble connected to a special time you spent together.
Decide on a place for your date which is cozy and chic. Good music and amazing food will enhance your fun idea. Get away from your house and maybe revisit a place from your dating days you don’t visit anymore. It’ll bring back beautiful nostalgia.
4) Get a caretaker for the kids
Arrange for your children, if you have them, to be out of the house. You might ask the grandparents to take the kids for an evening or maybe you can arrange an extended play date at a friend’s house. Find a nanny in advance if you want to make your date an overnight event, it will keep you from having to watch the clock all evening.
5) Plan a playlist
Choose the background music that you will play to set the mood after your date night out. Soft love songs or jazz music are good choices, or find songs that were popular when you were dating to bring back the memory of your early attraction. Make sure the music is relaxing.
6) Set the mood indoor
If you are not planning an outdoor date, plan the lighting and create a romantic ambiance at home. Add candles for a romantic tone, but avoid placing candles all over the house. Use them on the table and perhaps in one other focal point. Include his favourites in the menu. Choose menu items and other touches that don’t require constant attention from you so that your focus can be on the conversation and togetherness.
Keep things simple, but significant.
7) Say “I love you”
Plan a little surprise that says “I love you.” It could be a romantic card, a dessert with the phrase “I love you” displayed in icing or a poem you wrote to tell your husband how you feel about him. The key to let him know what you feel like has to be communication and expression. Do it! Don’t chicken out!
8) Just be yourself and let go
You can’t control everything, right? Realize it! Make this date happen, even if that means letting go of another party, a work emergency, or a social event.
Buy new lingerie! Surprise him with something he hasn’t seen before. Bring out the hidden inner goddess in you and rule your fun times with the man you love most!
