I met Aditya through common friends. Both of us were passionate about the education sector in India and wanted to work in this field. We started our journey with PSQ and after delivering 10000+ unique experiences, I’m proud to say that this is the most fulfilling idea we’ve had till date. PSQ was founded in September, 2013. In January, 2014, we were incubated by the prestigious SINE, IIT-Bombay. We have been funded by Indian Quotient and Matrix Partners India.
During the course of our individual work lives, both Aditya and I were exposed to an undercurrent of frustration in professionals of all age groups and industries. A little bit of researching on our part revealed that unhealthy career choices formed the crux of the problem. Here at PSQ, we work towards making sure that youngsters make informed career choices through experiential learning and work culture immersion.
‘Purple Squirrel’ is a term coined by human resource professionals in Europe to define an ideal candidate for any job. The said candidate will have the right kind of education, work experience and exposure that fits the job requirement perfectly. An ‘Eduventure’ can be perceived as a summation of education and adventure, a programme that provides students with a wholesome educational experience through industry interactions. In other words, the name Purple Squirrel Eduventures signifies the attempt to nurture the right candidate through a holistic experiential learning experience.
An Eduventure combines the following modules: industry visits, skill-development activities, certified workshops and unique local experiences. Each of these modules help a student to immerse in the work culture of a company of her/his choice, network with industry leaders and learn on the road. These programmes are flexible. They can be customized based on an individual student’s requirements.
During an industrial visit, students get to interact first-hand with the professionals from India’s largest companies. It provides them with an in-depth understanding into building particular skill-sets for their chosen vocations. In today’s day and age, when companies are increasingly looking out for candidates who they term as the ‘perfect culture fit’, an industry visit becomes the first step towards becoming industry-ready!
