Cool Bungalows In Bandra You Need To Hang Out At!
Bandra, located in the heart of the city of dreams, is known to be the most vintage suburb. Located in the middle of so many buildings are a few bungalows that still maintain their heritage and have converted themselves into extremely cool and beautiful hangouts.
Are you a foodie who always needs an excuse to hang out with friends? Here’s one of the cooler places in Bandra—Candies. But did you know that Candies is actually a bungalow? There is a beautiful lounge feeling with some mesmerizing Moroccan lamps and creative mosaic work on the walls. The whole restaurant is divided into three floors with two restaurants and one store in it. It is so beautiful that you just wouldn’t want to get out of there.
- The Yoga House
Located near Rizvi complex, this beautiful bungalow is divided into two vertical halves. One, a salon and another, The Yoga House. The Yoga house is a beautiful concept wherein the bungalow accommodates a restaurant, a studio, and an organic store. This one-of-a-kind place is run by three partners, one being a French lady and the others being Indian who came together with one passion—Yoga. This place has some of the most beautiful nooks and corners that one would never want to leave. Painted in blue, green and white, this house has a very soothing and earthy effect, and is easy on the eyes. The store stocks organic spices and oils from MP’s organic farms and the restaurant uses organic vegetables too. They believe in reusing and recycling things, and giving back to nature in various ways, one of which is making planters out of cane tokris.
- The Hive
The Hive is literally like a beehive, constantly buzzing with energy and activity. Located in the Khar-Danda area, this bungalow is divided into multiple tiny rooms, that literally look like holes in the wall. It is run by a bunch of like-minded people who have the same passion for art, music, craft and literature. The Hive hosts some extremely cool workshops and shows on various things each month—drama, art, design, poetry, music, etc. You can literally walk into this place, pick up a book, choose your corner, and read it or paint abstract designs on the walls (with permission, of course.) It has a very cool seating arrangement and a beautiful ambience. During the evening, when there are jamming sessions, the aura transforms into a soulful one, which is alluring as well as calming.
- The Vintage Garden
When you walk down to Turner Road from the station, you will see a grand brick bungalow on your right. This bungalow painted in white and red is beautifully maintained. The vintage feel of the garden setup brings about the name The Vintage Garden. Owned by the Patkar family, this bungalow opens its doors for niche brands to exhibit and showcase their products in their backyard. The Bungalow has some extremely beautiful vintage photographs and furniture. Without a lot of hullabaloo, this bungalow still beautifully hosts guests. The Vintage Garden management is also receptive to exhibitions as they provide their vintage chairs, tables and showcases for exhibitors to showcase their products.
