Festival of Lights with Rohan Madhok of Indian Reverie

Rohan Madhok, the co-founder of Indian Reverie is just like us; he is a foodie, a music lover, a person who strives to crop a smile on faces of people he loves.  He is quite an easy-going man, who usually tries to keep stressful things at bay. He has always been fascinated by simplifying the necessities of life; and as we all know, shopping is one of them, and he wants to make Indian home accent shopping fun and easy for all of us. Today, for our #TuesdayTale we tell you his story.

“When I graduated and earned my bachelors degree in Australia, I knew that e-commerce was just picking up in India, and it was one industry that was only going to see exponential growth as the years go by. It was kind of no-brainer for me to pounce at the opportunity, and it was at the age of 22 that I was given the responsibility of launching and running the first official online Disney store in India. Post that there was no looking back- I familiarized myself with all the aspects, challenges, tools and ideas that are required to run an online store as an entrepreneur.”

 

The birth of Indian Reverie…

“Between 2012-13, I studied in London, and successfully achieved my Masters degree in Marketing Management with honours from University of Westminster. On returning I came up with this idea of launching a home decor online store since my uncle was into manufacturing premium products since the past 40+ years. It was then when Indian Reverie was born and my main focus was to build a brand, by going online on all the top marketplaces and also focus on offline sales through stores and corporate gifting.”

Indian Reverie, the brand story…

“My Brand name speaks for itself! The word ‘reverie’ is not a very usual word, hence it appeals to a more premium and well-educated crowd. Our products aim to add a dreamy touch to people’s homes, and I believe our brand name does justice to that.”

For decades, people in India have been using handmade products in their homes, and since then India is known for having an incredibly rich heritage of craftsmanship. Indianreverie.com celebrates this – by providing customers with a carefully curated collection of home décor accessories that are capable of creating a ‘dreamy’ and ‘ethnic’ vibe in their homes. The company has their manufacturing facility in Moradabad, and a factory in New Delhi where they operate out of, with strict quality measures which are up to export standards.

Indian Reverie’s route ahead…

Indian Reverie is just a little over a year old now and now they know the flavours of the market, they’ve learnt what works and what doesn’t. Their main focus right now is to add an entire collection of new products for 2016, with a different look and feel to it, but still have that dreamy vibe!

In the long-term we can expect Indian Reverie to have an offline store in a few locations across India, retailing stylish unique products at very affordable prices.

More about Rohan…

Apart from the e-commerce addiction, Rohan is a typical Punjabi boy who loves food, music and maintaining a good healthy social life. He loves travelling around the world, attend music concerts and sporting events, but the one thing that he cannot live without is his deep, progressive, tech house music. He updates his music playlists on a weekly basis and always has a genre to fit his mood to put a smile on his face. (So now we know where to head for a rocking party this Diwali!?)
