Wanderlust Ideas with Habbana

A wandering mind is a powerhouse of great ideas, and Habbana is a brainchild of one such idea that cropped up on a holiday. Three friends were on their dream vacation and a business idea hit them, that has changed the way we buy fashion-accessories-and make up online. Read on, here’s more to the story!

“Three of us (Aakash Batra, Ritesh Kapoor, and Avya Pahwa) are very different in our character traits, strengths and weaknesses. We have known each other through school and hence we know each other’s areas of interest. And that’s why we each handle very different aspects of the business. That said, our goal for starting the company has been the same. We have a burning desire to make a difference in the way people, especially women, shop for beauty and fashion products online. When we are not researching on how to make Habbana better than what it was an hour ago, we are gaming or eating. We eat a lot”, says Aakash.

>> Here’s how a vacation changed their lives-

“We three partners are bitten by the travel bug. We thought of the name Habbana when we were travelling on the East Coast on this 40-day road-trip. We remember sitting in this hole-in-the-wall restaurant in Miami and eating Cuban sandwiches and thinking of Havana. That name stayed with us, although we weren’t thinking of starting an e-commerce company at that time. We also remember how we were enamored by the duty-free shops at Amsterdam airport and hoped that there could be such a wide variety of perfumes, hair-care and skincare products along with an exciting range of fashion products available in India for our family and friends. Wanting to cater to an ever-growing market, we started a company that focused on helping women with everything they needed to feel beautiful and empowered, and called it HABBANA.”

Habbana is simply inspired by every person who shops online and is looking for high quality products along with the edgiest high-street trends. “We wanted to create an eco-system where every girl can shop everything that she needs from AM to PM, right when she wakes up and slips into a summer dress that makes her happy to a makeup remover that she uses right before she snoozes. The inspiration was and still is making life more convenient for discerning, young women who only want the best.”

>> If you guys had to suggest accessories to complete a travel look for our lovely lady readers, what would be your picks-

It’ll have to be our sunglasses that are such a rage! A good, smart pair of sunglasses are an absolute must when you’re travelling. They can completely brighten your outfit! Besides sunglasses, a good statement necklace or bracelet also helps to get you in the holiday mood. Here are some of our favorites from Habbana’s holiday edition specials:

A little tip on the dress up game-

Don’t over dress. It’s fairly simple- when in doubt, leave it out. If you’re wearing a sequin dress, keep minimalistic accessories, if you’re wearing a basic LBD, stack up on some baubles. And no matter what, dress up for yourself in whatever you are most comfortable in.
